I am an East Coast expatriate hiding out in the Midwest...

I am an urban gal living in the suburbs and occasionally hiding in the country

I am a yoga practitioner, fitness enthusiast, believer in the mind-body-spirit connection...

I am a mid-life "revert" to the Roman Catholic faith in which I was raised and which has become an enormous source of support, encouragement, inspiration, and joy in my life...

I am a mom, sister, daughter, and wife...

I am an explorer; adventurous and curious about the world and people around me...

I am educated in the formal sense but I gain insight through everyday living...

I created this blog at a time of great fear and apprehension in my life. I chose to sustain it because of the discoveries about myself and the world around me that it has revealed.

What you can expect to find here:
  • the documentation of a love-hate relationship with the greater Philadelphia area
  • reminiscing about the good-ole-days (the 80's!)
  • complaints about my various ailments and injuries, both real and imagined
  • pictures and stories of gardening, decorating, shopping, sewing
  • my love of irony
  • links to kooky news stories
  • way too much scatological musing for sane people

    Warning: Eccentric Pet Owner Ahead

After seeing this, and laughing my butt off, I decided, as horrifically unflattering as this pic is, its just too goofy to NOT share.

And, yes, you guessed it, hubby cruelly snapped this while I was sleeping in one Sunday morning a few weekends ago...

Yes, our animals are allowed on the bed...but they usually don't all gather 'round the warm humans all at once. Its a bit spooky, if you didn't know our pets, to see this picture. It almost looks like they are waiting for me to die so that they can attack me like little furry vultures!

Their names are Annie (our Beagle), Buster (black and white 14-year old long-haired cat - I have had him since I was in college!), Floyd (hubby's female all-white cat that HE had in college) and Princess, the grey and white obese little furball.

You had better believe that I use plenty of FEBREEZE in my bedroom after the Kennel Club meetings!

We have 4 cuddlers too, though only 3 of them are allowed on the bed. The other one is just too big!
We have two dogs...Sasha, a shepherd/collie cross, Scamp a bichon/cocker cross, and Tigger and Mitzi both tabbies.... :)

oh, and Scott - hubby snuk out of bed to TAKE this picture. He's usually got his arm around the white cat or the dog in the morning. That white cat is his "baby."

actually the tissue box is a vine print; it matches the outlet coves (!). The lampshades are a toile print of people and trees, not floral.

I thought "We love our Mommy" when I saw this picture. :)

    They are adorable. Especially Annie.

I'm biased I know... but she is still my favorite. :)

I note with alarm the absence of your husband. He is either a very wise man, or his affections have been usurped.
    Nice 'boudoir' pic, though :-)

That's hilarious Brandy. Princess definitely looks like she's stealthing. haha I have been cat sitting this week for the ex. Missy has just about drove me bonkers. She wants outside, 5 mins later back in, repeat 24/7. Ignoring her is impossible, the meowing just gets louder. Give me strength!

How's the project going by the way? Can't wait to see the pic. :)

    I miss cats.

    The hubby is allergic.

I could get rid of him though.

    Animal Farm.

I could never sleep that soundly when my cat would jump up on my bed. She would pat my cheek with her paw to wake me. The face cheek.

I don't think it looks at all spooky -- it's adorable! I envy you, B ... our pet is a spiny-tailed lizard; she doesn't cuddle well.
