I am an East Coast expatriate hiding out in the Midwest...

I am an urban gal living in the suburbs and occasionally hiding in the country

I am a yoga practitioner, fitness enthusiast, believer in the mind-body-spirit connection...

I am a mid-life "revert" to the Roman Catholic faith in which I was raised and which has become an enormous source of support, encouragement, inspiration, and joy in my life...

I am a mom, sister, daughter, and wife...

I am an explorer; adventurous and curious about the world and people around me...

I am educated in the formal sense but I gain insight through everyday living...

I created this blog at a time of great fear and apprehension in my life. I chose to sustain it because of the discoveries about myself and the world around me that it has revealed.

What you can expect to find here:
  • the documentation of a love-hate relationship with the greater Philadelphia area
  • reminiscing about the good-ole-days (the 80's!)
  • complaints about my various ailments and injuries, both real and imagined
  • pictures and stories of gardening, decorating, shopping, sewing
  • my love of irony
  • links to kooky news stories
  • way too much scatological musing for sane people

    No NHL...

This year, my sister and her husband cleverly wore the following costume to a halloween party:

What are they supposed to be, you may ask? "THE DEATH OF HOCKEY" of course! Looks like they knew it was inevitable...

    Alas! What a shame.

I had thought that I might get a glimpse of Lord Stanley's Cup while in Tampa this week. But it wasn't meant to be.

BTW, Philly was cold and gray when we passed through there yesterday on our way home. A rude awakening for one who had been wandering around in his short sleeves for two and a half days ...

LOL - That's great. The players need to wake up and pull their heads out of their butts. Sure a $45M cap might have been a compromise that would have gotten a deal done, but it would have done nothing to FIX the problem. There needs to be a $25M cap for things to get better. The problem was the game was getting to expensive for the average joe. THAT is what needs to be fixed. Signing a deal and fixing the problems are two different things. I have a feeling we're going to be seeing replacement players to start next year until the NHLPA finally breaks.
