I am an East Coast expatriate hiding out in the Midwest...

I am an urban gal living in the suburbs and occasionally hiding in the country

I am a yoga practitioner, fitness enthusiast, believer in the mind-body-spirit connection...

I am a mid-life "revert" to the Roman Catholic faith in which I was raised and which has become an enormous source of support, encouragement, inspiration, and joy in my life...

I am a mom, sister, daughter, and wife...

I am an explorer; adventurous and curious about the world and people around me...

I am educated in the formal sense but I gain insight through everyday living...

I created this blog at a time of great fear and apprehension in my life. I chose to sustain it because of the discoveries about myself and the world around me that it has revealed.

What you can expect to find here:
  • the documentation of a love-hate relationship with the greater Philadelphia area
  • reminiscing about the good-ole-days (the 80's!)
  • complaints about my various ailments and injuries, both real and imagined
  • pictures and stories of gardening, decorating, shopping, sewing
  • my love of irony
  • links to kooky news stories
  • way too much scatological musing for sane people

    Voice Your Opinion

OK, since my last post was about numbskull marketeers, how about we take a look at some of the more clever things those guys and gals in advertising have devised over the years.

AdWeek magazine is taking a poll for best slogan. CLICK HERE to vote for your favorite.

I am truly torn between Dunkin' Donuts and NIKE. Hmm....

Hmmm ... Visa doesn't work here in Germany very well, so ... I went with Timex. When I was in the hospital the doctors used to say that about me every time I survived another life-threatening event ... he takes a licking and keeps on ticking.

I chose 'it's everywhere you want to be' (Visa)... because it seems to be true (at least for me, haha). I like the 'we'll leave the light on for you' too though, because the homey aspect of it is appealing.

I chose Just Do It by Nike because it is the most inspiring. 2nd would be Time to Make the Donuts as the most memorable and 3rd would be A Diamond is Forever because I am a hopeless romantic like that!

"what happens here, stays here" or so they keep trying to convince people. But I like it better than KC's "welcome to "cowtown""

"we'll leave the light on for you"...

I like this one not because its witty - but because it sounds so down to earth. Out of charactor I know but still..
