I am an East Coast expatriate hiding out in the Midwest...

I am an urban gal living in the suburbs and occasionally hiding in the country

I am a yoga practitioner, fitness enthusiast, believer in the mind-body-spirit connection...

I am a mid-life "revert" to the Roman Catholic faith in which I was raised and which has become an enormous source of support, encouragement, inspiration, and joy in my life...

I am a mom, sister, daughter, and wife...

I am an explorer; adventurous and curious about the world and people around me...

I am educated in the formal sense but I gain insight through everyday living...

I created this blog at a time of great fear and apprehension in my life. I chose to sustain it because of the discoveries about myself and the world around me that it has revealed.

What you can expect to find here:
  • the documentation of a love-hate relationship with the greater Philadelphia area
  • reminiscing about the good-ole-days (the 80's!)
  • complaints about my various ailments and injuries, both real and imagined
  • pictures and stories of gardening, decorating, shopping, sewing
  • my love of irony
  • links to kooky news stories
  • way too much scatological musing for sane people

    Mile Marker 20

I'm at 20 weeks today...half way there if it goes all the way. Fingers crossed...

My daughter had her first CCD class today. The teachers told me when I went to pick her up that she led the class in a prayer for "her baby brother" while in Church and then requested to say a Hail Mary at the outdoor Mary grotto/fountain. Apparently they were quite impressed with her level of articulation, maturity, and leadership. Ha, my kid the Religious Leader. Now I KNOW God is laughing at/with me.... :)

    lol, very funny kid, that.
I hate that counting off days and weeks thing, from our own experience, but I know how it can help you to feel more secure.
    Half way there! WhoooHooo!

Ok, that is just too sweet.
She may not be a religious leader some day ut she sure does know what makes her feel safe and secure... and she knows that prayers work, no matter who you pray to.
What an amazing little (ok, big) girl you have.. I bet you're so proud.
    And congrats on 20 weeks!
I'm still thinking of you and sending you all sorts of love!

Aaaaw! That's so sweet. Kids understand more than we think sometimes.

    Congratulations on 20 weeks!

Thanks for the comment on yesterdays entry. I posted a lot more today. My mind is overwhelmed with info and I must release it somehow.

Way to go! Over the hump, as it were (that's what my wife always said when she reached 20 weeks!).

And your daughter is beyond cute. How about ... clever! And impressive. You must be positively beaming.

I remember being a kid and watching some of my classmates go to CCD. As a non-Christian, it always struck as odd that these kids would agree to even more school than was required (my own Hebrew school classes, apparantly didn't count). Still, it's a beautiful thing and I know she'll come away from it with a lot of insight.

I am pulling for you, of course. But I don't need to tell you that!
