    Toon Tme

    I want to share more here about me - what I look like at 6 months pregnant, different haircut, 25lb (pregnancy related) weight gain (quite a contrast to last summer's triple-triathlon bod!)...but my husband and mother have asked me not to post any pictures of my preggo self online. Why not? Bcause of the big news stories about pregnant women being stalked and attacked/murdered for their fetuses. Ick.

    Yeah there are some real kooks in this world...but I have to wonder...if the impetus for murder is to steal a baby, would they even want my lul' bundle-o'-maladies???

    OK, I guess I overthought that one (d'ya think?!?), but my point is I'd love to share more with my blogworld pals, but I have been specifically requested to be a bit more discreet/anonymous. I guess what I'm trying to say is "sorry- I want to but it doesn't feel right."

    I also need to get rid of that outdated pic in the corner of my blog; I want to make a sort of cartoon/caricature of myself - maybe even a preggo (i.e. full-body)cartoon! That would likely solve my conflicting feelings of being proud of my mama-belly and being discreet. Anyone have a good website where I can make an avatar/cartoon image of myself? I've tried a few but they all end up looking like anime punk rock teenagers. That ain't really really the maternal look I was striving to achieve...

    It is just an idea. Post your belly instead of your face, and belly. Oh and by all means get your face off your site as soon as possible.

    It is definitely not overly paranoid. I have been stalked and harrassed online. I used to share real names, and photos and the truth of my life. Now I still share the truth, but only with false names and false city information and false pictures. You need to be careful. They are right. You should have false information everywhere if you can, and a throwaway email account like yahoo mail or hotmail. Never share locations, and names. I don't want to scare you but internet crime is higher than any big city in any big country. On the internet you are in a city as big as the world.

    Have you considered just using a picture of a fetus? I found a really good one. It would definitely be maternal. Take a look.

    I think not having pictures forces you to be more expressive verbally. I agree with your decision not to post pics, though. People are weird. (not you, the nutso stalker/porn people)

    While I would love to see all that about you (you can email me if you want) I think you are smart. I really wonder if it is a good idea all the mommy blogs that are out there with photos of the kids etc. Maybe I am being overly paranoid but it seems like an extra risk to take. But seriously send me some photos...I promise not to stalk!

    Isn't it a shame you can't just post what you like. But, I think you're wise - bet you look gorgeous though. There's quite a few blogdrive buddies who are brilliant at cartoons. Melly's mind or something like that, I think is one that springs to mind.
