I am an East Coast expatriate hiding out in the Midwest...

I am an urban gal living in the suburbs and occasionally hiding in the country

I am a yoga practitioner, fitness enthusiast, believer in the mind-body-spirit connection...

I am a mid-life "revert" to the Roman Catholic faith in which I was raised and which has become an enormous source of support, encouragement, inspiration, and joy in my life...

I am a mom, sister, daughter, and wife...

I am an explorer; adventurous and curious about the world and people around me...

I am educated in the formal sense but I gain insight through everyday living...

I created this blog at a time of great fear and apprehension in my life. I chose to sustain it because of the discoveries about myself and the world around me that it has revealed.

What you can expect to find here:
  • the documentation of a love-hate relationship with the greater Philadelphia area
  • reminiscing about the good-ole-days (the 80's!)
  • complaints about my various ailments and injuries, both real and imagined
  • pictures and stories of gardening, decorating, shopping, sewing
  • my love of irony
  • links to kooky news stories
  • way too much scatological musing for sane people

    "Tagged" a.k.a. Instant Blog Entry

I got tagged by Michelle over at Smoochdog. I'm game to give my answers but I won't force anyone else to do it. But here's what I will do: If you are uninspired and haven't come up with an interesting blog entry OR you'd love to wax poetic about YOURSELF without seeming self-centered, then here's your excuse. You have to name the "5 wierdest things about me..."

For some reason I am compelled to focus my introspection today on my grammar/style/computing habits.

    1. Obviously enough, I refuse to continue chain letters. That includes emails, blog games, etc. Oh wait. That's not wierd. That's conserving worldwide bandwith and storage space! ;)

    2. My favorite part of blogging is coming up with clever titles/headlines. I used to do the same thing when I wrote interoffice newsletters as well as articles for a now-defunct music magazine. I think the one I was most proud of slipped an Urge Overkill lyric into the headline for a blood drive at school. Well, at least I try.

    3. I have no left arrow key on my laptop keyboard. Hmm, that's more about my computer than me...

    4. I type so fast and furiously that I produce heaps of typos -thus everything I compose looks like it came from a psychopathic dunce.

    5. As stated before, I abuse elipses, semicolons, exclamation points, and parentheses. I think the elipses overuse is the worst....

I like punctuation too much, too. My own favourite is to end a sentence in three little dots...
    It's addictive!

    ...elipses rule...

    I'm a "first line" girl, myself. I love thinking of an opening for a post , a poem, a story, a newsletter.....anything.

I think life should be openers......openers and elipses........yeah........

Maybe we should start a "chain letter stops here" club. I'm still alive after killing many a chainletter!

I love your titles. That "Abercrombie and Bitch" had me laughing out loud!
