I am an East Coast expatriate hiding out in the Midwest...

I am an urban gal living in the suburbs and occasionally hiding in the country

I am a yoga practitioner, fitness enthusiast, believer in the mind-body-spirit connection...

I am a mid-life "revert" to the Roman Catholic faith in which I was raised and which has become an enormous source of support, encouragement, inspiration, and joy in my life...

I am a mom, sister, daughter, and wife...

I am an explorer; adventurous and curious about the world and people around me...

I am educated in the formal sense but I gain insight through everyday living...

I created this blog at a time of great fear and apprehension in my life. I chose to sustain it because of the discoveries about myself and the world around me that it has revealed.

What you can expect to find here:
  • the documentation of a love-hate relationship with the greater Philadelphia area
  • reminiscing about the good-ole-days (the 80's!)
  • complaints about my various ailments and injuries, both real and imagined
  • pictures and stories of gardening, decorating, shopping, sewing
  • my love of irony
  • links to kooky news stories
  • way too much scatological musing for sane people

    Doggie Don't

    So...

Here's an anecdote to add a little snicker to your day:

Around 6am this morning, uncustomarily early for me, I was feeling a bit amorous and so I snuggled up to hubby looking for some lovin'. As the good times commenced, Annie, the beagle, jumped up and began barking - also unsually early, as she almost always sleeps until 10 am. Sensing her urgent need to go out to pee, I interrupted the marital proceedings, jumped out of bed, threw on a bathrobe and some boots (its darn muddy outside) and took her out for a squirt. She took care of business, we came back inthe house and I got back into bed.

Not long after the after-glow, I heard a tell-tale "squishing" noise. The g*ddamn dog was squatting on my NEW carpet and delivering a payload of extra-steamy diarrhea!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Needless to say, I began cleanup immediately with RESOLVE cleaner, wet sponge, scrub brush, a roll of paper towels, a big garbage can and a very bad post-coital/pre-morning-cup-of-coffee attitude.

Despite the scrubbing and blotting of said stain,I could still tell where the schmears were on the rug so I went up into the attic to retrieve a long-forgotten Bissell canister power-steamer. Thanks to more RESOLVE, hot water, scrubbing and "extracting" of brown water via the Bissell, the stains are now gone (lucky for the dog.)

Ain't nothing more romantic than poop in the morning...

That is even worse than morning puke! Yeah. Fun. I stepped in some last week. C1 had a hairball with a little something extra on the end.

    Interesting form of foreplay.

Maybe Annie's just letting you know she might like an Andy around...

Morning Poop. Embrace the horror... well, actually it's "coping with it" - but I just like using that phrase, "Embrace the horror."

Pets have excellent mis-timing gene - its a built in natural sense.

Cat poo may be small but small cat diarrhea still stinks to high Heaven. Thank goodness for portable carpet cleaners.

Granted, cat turds are small and non-runny BUT...

I have mopped up my share of cat vomit & hairballs in my day!!!
