I am an East Coast expatriate hiding out in the Midwest...

I am an urban gal living in the suburbs and occasionally hiding in the country

I am a yoga practitioner, fitness enthusiast, believer in the mind-body-spirit connection...

I am a mid-life "revert" to the Roman Catholic faith in which I was raised and which has become an enormous source of support, encouragement, inspiration, and joy in my life...

I am a mom, sister, daughter, and wife...

I am an explorer; adventurous and curious about the world and people around me...

I am educated in the formal sense but I gain insight through everyday living...

I created this blog at a time of great fear and apprehension in my life. I chose to sustain it because of the discoveries about myself and the world around me that it has revealed.

What you can expect to find here:
  • the documentation of a love-hate relationship with the greater Philadelphia area
  • reminiscing about the good-ole-days (the 80's!)
  • complaints about my various ailments and injuries, both real and imagined
  • pictures and stories of gardening, decorating, shopping, sewing
  • my love of irony
  • links to kooky news stories
  • way too much scatological musing for sane people

Putting the Labor in Labor Day

I am FINALLY taking a breather to sit and read my email, blog, etc.

I spent most of the day at my father-in-law's clearing out closets and packing up items in good shape to be donated. I took the Van down to his place with the intent of packing it with boxes and bags of items to drop off at a donation truck near our house. However, after hefting some 25 large bags of trash into the garbage chute at his building my back was crying out for mercy adn I left all the donate-ables boxed up for another time. Which will probably be this weekend, I guess...

All I know is that my family and I aren't planning anything "fun" except perhaps one night 's dinner at a cheap diner or something for a break in the action. We have to re-org our garage (ugh!) in order to accomodate tools and supplies that hubby is moving here from his dad's. Lots more moving, cleaning, more moving and more cleaning. I can't wait until things are finnaly in shape to get his condo on the market and get that chapter closed.

I plan on a weekend filled with ibuprofen, cheap wine, and a Homedics back massage mat/heating pad!

It was home projects weekend for us too, but cleaning out the FIL's place sounds like a major project! Thank goodness for cheap wine!
