I am an East Coast expatriate hiding out in the Midwest...

I am an urban gal living in the suburbs and occasionally hiding in the country

I am a yoga practitioner, fitness enthusiast, believer in the mind-body-spirit connection...

I am a mid-life "revert" to the Roman Catholic faith in which I was raised and which has become an enormous source of support, encouragement, inspiration, and joy in my life...

I am a mom, sister, daughter, and wife...

I am an explorer; adventurous and curious about the world and people around me...

I am educated in the formal sense but I gain insight through everyday living...

I created this blog at a time of great fear and apprehension in my life. I chose to sustain it because of the discoveries about myself and the world around me that it has revealed.

What you can expect to find here:
  • the documentation of a love-hate relationship with the greater Philadelphia area
  • reminiscing about the good-ole-days (the 80's!)
  • complaints about my various ailments and injuries, both real and imagined
  • pictures and stories of gardening, decorating, shopping, sewing
  • my love of irony
  • links to kooky news stories
  • way too much scatological musing for sane people

    WWJD?

During Sunday evening's Mass, our priest noted in his homily that he felt that oftentimes certain luxury car drivers have a tendency to think they own the road...it was not a political statement as much as a Seinfeld-esque observational opening to the point of his message.

    Anyway...

I have been obsessing about cars lately and the good Father's story made me think: WWJD? What Would Jesus Drive?

After much pontification, I came up with two vibrant vehicular images of my Lord and Savior:

The most obvious is as a humble, scruffy guy on a rusty mountain bike in teva sandals, hair blowing in the breeze (why would HE need a helmet?!?!)

But somehow I'm more drawn to image #2: Him  totally owning the road and showing those Pharisees who is Boss in a SWEEEEEEEEET muscle car: the 1969 Pontiac GTO aptly named "The Judge"!!!!!

Two weeks ago, while on my way to CONFESSION, I was graced with the pleasure of driving alongside a convertible version of the above machine and although the paint appeared to be fading, the unmistakable "The Judge" decal badge was still prominently displayed. I took it as a witty and ironic joke between me and the Big JC.

    WWJD?

I think he would drive a big ol' van like the one you bought. After all he was always travelling around with a group of fellows.

If he and Mary Magdaline wanted some privacy, perhaps a muscle car would be better

    Praise be to The Judge!

I remember the muscle cars from back in my high school days. Hmmm, I don't recall doing much pondering on Jesus while in them, though!

Hmmm and here I was thinking of a van able to seat 12/13 comfortably with a fish decal in the window and a bumper sticker that read "If you can read this, try John 3:15" or "if you can read this be ready to meet your maker" or my favorite "If you can read this, you're too close to the Holy Ghost"
