I am an East Coast expatriate hiding out in the Midwest...

I am an urban gal living in the suburbs and occasionally hiding in the country

I am a yoga practitioner, fitness enthusiast, believer in the mind-body-spirit connection...

I am a mid-life "revert" to the Roman Catholic faith in which I was raised and which has become an enormous source of support, encouragement, inspiration, and joy in my life...

I am a mom, sister, daughter, and wife...

I am an explorer; adventurous and curious about the world and people around me...

I am educated in the formal sense but I gain insight through everyday living...

I created this blog at a time of great fear and apprehension in my life. I chose to sustain it because of the discoveries about myself and the world around me that it has revealed.

What you can expect to find here:
  • the documentation of a love-hate relationship with the greater Philadelphia area
  • reminiscing about the good-ole-days (the 80's!)
  • complaints about my various ailments and injuries, both real and imagined
  • pictures and stories of gardening, decorating, shopping, sewing
  • my love of irony
  • links to kooky news stories
  • way too much scatological musing for sane people

Agitated like a sneaker in a washing machine

I've been feeling agitated, anxious, cranky, and tired lately.

Even an all-out 3.5 hour "spa day" on Wednesday(1 hr facial, 1 hr Swedish massage, manicure/pedicure) didn't seem to knock this cloudiness out of my system.

I woke up today feeling exhausted, even though I got 8 hours...

So I remembered that I HAD resolved to get back into regular Yoga practice again. I had let it slide much of the summer and boy, have I lost alot of flexibility. So I popped in my fave Rodney Yee power yoga DVD and today I did the "Power Yoga for Flexibilty" workout.

I am WIPED OUT from it. It was so intense, both phsycally and mentally, and now I feel ready for a nap but I have to pick up kiddo from the bus stop in 45 minutes so I'll just go take a bath for a few minutes to continue to unwind and to clean away the sweat I worked up duroing the workout!

I've been going to yoga class for about 4 weeks now, man yoga is hard.

I could go for a massage too, i'll skip the facial though, cant trust anyone with this face.

Yeah, I've got an R.Y. Power Yoga DVD. He's the MAN! I hope it effectively unclouded you.

I'm jealous, though. I want that 3.5 hour spa day!
