I am an East Coast expatriate hiding out in the Midwest...

I am an urban gal living in the suburbs and occasionally hiding in the country

I am a yoga practitioner, fitness enthusiast, believer in the mind-body-spirit connection...

I am a mid-life "revert" to the Roman Catholic faith in which I was raised and which has become an enormous source of support, encouragement, inspiration, and joy in my life...

I am a mom, sister, daughter, and wife...

I am an explorer; adventurous and curious about the world and people around me...

I am educated in the formal sense but I gain insight through everyday living...

I created this blog at a time of great fear and apprehension in my life. I chose to sustain it because of the discoveries about myself and the world around me that it has revealed.

What you can expect to find here:
  • the documentation of a love-hate relationship with the greater Philadelphia area
  • reminiscing about the good-ole-days (the 80's!)
  • complaints about my various ailments and injuries, both real and imagined
  • pictures and stories of gardening, decorating, shopping, sewing
  • my love of irony
  • links to kooky news stories
  • way too much scatological musing for sane people

    My In-Joke

I saw this graphic on The Daily Show and giggled myself breathless. My husband, sisters, and friend Dennis will know why:

Hint: it has to do with the Chicago rock scene in the 90's and my ridiculous crush from that era.

I love The Daily SHow. I can watch it on the weekends here in Germany; it's on the English-teching channel on Saturdays, along with Conan OBrien. Ah, the very best that America has to offer! What better way to learn English ...

you know, it will be 15 years this Feb 14th that I had my very special Valentine Surprise from the Nash-ster. Ugh; I feel O - L - D !

I don't think I hit the Golden Apple as often as the Golden Nugget (s) (there were multiple locations as opposed to the singular Lincoln Ave digs of da' apple.)

I can't believe I used to drag the MUPP-sters to the Rainbo. (no "w'") I think one time we were there, I was in a wig, and you were psyched because the dj popped on The Breeders "Cannonball" . As Jerry Blank would say, "Good times, good times!"

    Sister Havana!

Can it really be almost 15 years since Nash and the boys briefly ruled the world?

Here's to drinks at the Rainbow and a greasy order of 2222 deuces at the Golden Apple.

Speaking of even earlier bittersweet times past, have you seen 24 Hour Party People, the faux documentary on the rise and fall of Factory Records?
