I am an East Coast expatriate hiding out in the Midwest...

I am an urban gal living in the suburbs and occasionally hiding in the country

I am a yoga practitioner, fitness enthusiast, believer in the mind-body-spirit connection...

I am a mid-life "revert" to the Roman Catholic faith in which I was raised and which has become an enormous source of support, encouragement, inspiration, and joy in my life...

I am a mom, sister, daughter, and wife...

I am an explorer; adventurous and curious about the world and people around me...

I am educated in the formal sense but I gain insight through everyday living...

I created this blog at a time of great fear and apprehension in my life. I chose to sustain it because of the discoveries about myself and the world around me that it has revealed.

What you can expect to find here:
  • the documentation of a love-hate relationship with the greater Philadelphia area
  • reminiscing about the good-ole-days (the 80's!)
  • complaints about my various ailments and injuries, both real and imagined
  • pictures and stories of gardening, decorating, shopping, sewing
  • my love of irony
  • links to kooky news stories
  • way too much scatological musing for sane people

    More juicy gossip

What did the grape say when he was juiced?

Nothing. He just let out a little whine.

    Big Smile

    But seriously folks...

I need to replenish our wine collection (ie - the small cardboard box in our basement) and I am looking for afforadble choices for the following varietals:

    • Chianti (I am not remotely oppsed to jug wine in this category)
    • Cabernet Sauvignon
    • Pinoit Noir
    • Syrah/Shiraz

I already have some rieslings and sparklings I love but am open to suggestions for those, as well.

chardonnay is one of my least favorite varietals; thus its not on the list!

Seems like there should be a bit of chardonnay in there somewhere...

I LOVE Australian wines...of all types. It's really all I'll buy, and they are among the most affordable of wines.

My most favorites are Lindemann's, Jacob's Creek, and Yellow Tail. I've tried other brands, too...and have never been disappointed, but I can't recall the names right now.

Okay, I confess... There is a box of Franzia in my fridge. Wonder how it got there.

I have been thinking about the whole once cup a day thing, but most wine is not good after it is open... I guess I should do wine from a box...lol kidding.

I used to have a client that was like 85 or so and worth about 800 million, sadly he was very very lonely, so we hosted a wine club once a month with the sole purpose of giving him something to do.

Anyway, I dont even like wine, but I found that amoung the cheap pinots I liked the Austrilian wines best.

Not much help, but thanks for playing my game, btw #3 is running down a dream by tom petty, i think you'll know that one

Gimme a beer and I'm good.

In otherwords, I'm of no use to you in this regard! :)

i'm not a wine connoisseur (and yes, i had to look up how to spell that!) by any stretch of the imagination, so i can't offer any advice on that. but the idea of you mixing your new wine with some of those fruit juices has my mouth watering. can you make a berry sangria like olive garden has?! lol.
