I am an East Coast expatriate hiding out in the Midwest...

I am an urban gal living in the suburbs and occasionally hiding in the country

I am a yoga practitioner, fitness enthusiast, believer in the mind-body-spirit connection...

I am a mid-life "revert" to the Roman Catholic faith in which I was raised and which has become an enormous source of support, encouragement, inspiration, and joy in my life...

I am a mom, sister, daughter, and wife...

I am an explorer; adventurous and curious about the world and people around me...

I am educated in the formal sense but I gain insight through everyday living...

I created this blog at a time of great fear and apprehension in my life. I chose to sustain it because of the discoveries about myself and the world around me that it has revealed.

What you can expect to find here:
  • the documentation of a love-hate relationship with the greater Philadelphia area
  • reminiscing about the good-ole-days (the 80's!)
  • complaints about my various ailments and injuries, both real and imagined
  • pictures and stories of gardening, decorating, shopping, sewing
  • my love of irony
  • links to kooky news stories
  • way too much scatological musing for sane people

    Blessed Pets

I finally retrieved a picture of my Scottish terrier, Megan, from my phone (that explains the crappy resolution.) Here she is being blessed on St. Francis of Assisi day by Father Steve.

Usually Meg is very protective of me, growling at any man or beast (i.e. - other dogs) that come near. However this day she was SO good and quiet, as were all the dogs in attendance. No one growled or barked or chased one another. It was, to be honest, quite eerie. The funniest was when we sang a hymn at the end of the prayer service - Meg decided to howl along!

Sweet! I'll let Tom in on the secret. Meanwhile, I have managed to receive the picture; Tom sent it to Donna's phone and Donna (oops -- Zoot, I mean) e-mailed it to me. perhaps I'll post it (although, unlike yours, it is without benefit of clergy).

I have Verizon as well, and I can send a pic to my email, but I guess it depends on what type of phoe you have. All you have to do is, while you are in messaging, is choose the picture and then select "abc" for the keypad so you can type in an email addy instead of a phone number (its defaulted to "123" for pic sending) It costs 25 cents, I think.
I also got a USB data cable for my phone but haven't figured out how to do that.

I do miss that (the blessing of the pets). Doggone it, maybe I oughta reconsider the Catholic Church after all.

Tom took a really cool picture of me and my cat Vincent on his phone yesterday, but it seems he can only send it to other, Verizon-networked cameraphones. Unfortunately I haven't got one. Is there a trick you used to extract the doggone thing?
