I am an East Coast expatriate hiding out in the Midwest...

I am an urban gal living in the suburbs and occasionally hiding in the country

I am a yoga practitioner, fitness enthusiast, believer in the mind-body-spirit connection...

I am a mid-life "revert" to the Roman Catholic faith in which I was raised and which has become an enormous source of support, encouragement, inspiration, and joy in my life...

I am a mom, sister, daughter, and wife...

I am an explorer; adventurous and curious about the world and people around me...

I am educated in the formal sense but I gain insight through everyday living...

I created this blog at a time of great fear and apprehension in my life. I chose to sustain it because of the discoveries about myself and the world around me that it has revealed.

What you can expect to find here:
  • the documentation of a love-hate relationship with the greater Philadelphia area
  • reminiscing about the good-ole-days (the 80's!)
  • complaints about my various ailments and injuries, both real and imagined
  • pictures and stories of gardening, decorating, shopping, sewing
  • my love of irony
  • links to kooky news stories
  • way too much scatological musing for sane people

    Wet Blanket

This past weekend, my family went up to the cabin as a group for the first time this season. It was wonderful.

    However...

We are thinking of diving into a project (big clue there) that would enhance the recreational nature of the property...and yet, as much as I want it, I really have a nagging apprehension about it in the back of my mind. I will have to see what the contractor comes back with as far as an estimate. I'm worried that it will be AFFORDABLE and thus just my "intuitive" cloudiness will be the reason we halt the endeavor.

I'm looking for clarity...and waiting for an email from the contractor that hopefully will provide it.

We are still in the "looking for" phase of our getaway place. I want to make sure that everyone - including my husband - understands that there's work involved in owning and maintaining recreational property before we jump in (and plop down the cash). Soon I hope! You guys are a good prototype for us!

Oh, pity us! who during our daily commutes encounter blondes who drive by sense of smell.

Well then again, according to the Pinball Wizard, Tommy played pinball by sense of smell ...

Ohhh good luckwith wahtever path you are meant to take. I am not sure about where you are but here in MA all such endeavors must have a lockable fence around them for insurance purposes (and insurance might even be higher)...I am not sure. It sounds like a fun addition and I am sure if it is meant to be it will happen. Good luck!
